Is your website giving your customers the service they need?

A good user experience (UX) is like good customer service. Quite simply, if your website is easy and engaging to use across all devices, people will come back to it again and again.

Online or offline, businesses that show customers they care about them will reap the rewards in sales and in loyalty. A principle tested by the UX gurus Nielsen Norman Group, who found that spending 10% of the development budget on usability would boost conversion by 83%.

Such is the importance of UX, it’s expected that by 2020 customer experience will overtake price and product as the most important factor in setting a brand apart from its competitors (Walker). How do you know if your site is providing the right experience?

That’s where we come in…

Our UX-certified services

Putting your customers at the heart of our digital marketing expertise

At CE we take an inside-out approach to creating a user experience, placing the customer at the centre of everything we do. So that our design, content and functionality work together to make it easier and more appealing for your audience to interact with your brand.

We’re fully UX-certified by the Nielsen Norman Group (NN/g) too, so our approach and the services we offer are supported by tried-and-tested principles and user research.

Usability and quality audits

Our specialists will conduct a top-to-tail review of your website, using our own specially devised audit tool to judge how usable it is and how well it meets it objectives. Combining quality checks with user analytics, we’ll present recommendations to sharpen the site’s performance as an integral part of your digital strategy.

User testing and research

Without user testing, the design of a webpage or email is based on assumptions. There are two methods we use to test-drive the user experience. Firstly, user testing, which involves observing how a ‘real’ sample of your target audience fares when we assign them individual actions to carry out on, say, an existing website or a test-site we’ve designed.

When budgets and timescales don’t allow for full user testing, a heuristic review is a good alternative. Here our experts put themselves into the shoes of users, applying judgement based on their own personal and professional experience alongside trusted UX principles.

Either way, the evidence we gather will give us a sound basis for our UX recommendations.

A/B or split testing

Split testing is simply trial by comparison – measuring the conversion rates of two live versions of a design to determine the most effective. A handy tactic for an important function of your website, such as online bookings or subscription.
